As Coronavirus (COVID-19) recommendations change, we will continue to make decisions in the best interest of our church and community. We are making every effort to keep you informed and will post updates via our website and social media accounts and send email updates as needed.

  1. SUNDAY WORSHIP – Morning worship will starts at 10am. We are still asking that you honor the six-foot rule between family units (households) while in the sanctuary. If you feel the need to wear a mask or gloves, please do so. If you feel safer at home watching online or listening to an audio file from the website, that is also an option. The important thing is that you are under the teaching of God’s Word and fellowship with the body as you can via phone, text, email, internet, or personal visits. Remember the importance of supporting one another. There will be no Sunday Evening Worship at this time.
  2. SUNDAY SCHOOL - is from 9:00 - 9:50am. When you enter the sanctuary foyer, your temperature will be taken and there will be hand sanitizer and masks available. There will be hand sanitizer throughout the building and in Sunday school rooms as well. We will practice social distancing by sitting one chair apart in Sunday School classrooms. It goes without saying that If you are showing any symptoms, please do not come.
  3. WEDNESDAY NIGHTS - Dinner from 5:45-6:15pm. Children’s Gospel Project, Youth Bible Study and Adult Prayer Meeting at 6:30pm.
  4. You are strongly encourage to practice “Family Worship” in your home!! Remember that means the reading of God’s Word and prayer with those in your home (family)
  5. CHURCH OFFICE - will continue to be closed to foot traffic. You can call and make an appointment if you need to come by (334-283-2221). The phones are forwarded to Donna’s phone and she will answer and help answer any question you may have.
  6. STAY CONNECTED - Remember to check the church’s Facebook page, web page (www.carrvillebaptist.com), and weekly email.

Thank you for your faithful stewardship allowing Carrville to continue to minister in our community! Please continue to pray for the leadership of Carrville as we seek to honor the Lord first and the civil authorities. Also pray for the world in which we live.

Carrville Baptist Church FAQ

Our address is 2436 Notasulga Highway (Highway 14) in Tallassee, Alabama. View the bottom of this page for a map. Drive safe!

We gather together at 9:15 am each Sunday Morning for Sunday School and continue to worship corporately at 10:30 am. On Sunday nights, we meet at 6:00 pm for an hour of study and worship. On Wednesday, we meet at 6 pm for a meal (usually) for 30 minutes, and then bible study lasts 1 hour.

Yes, nursery services are provided by qualified, responsible, background-checked adults during our church services for all pre-school children.

Our Sunday attendance is about 110 so there is a good chance you will be noticed and welcomed. Dress tends toward business-casual, though you can find anything from shorts to gray suits, flip flops to heels. People are friendly, although we would encourage you to be bold and introduce yourself.

On Sunday morning at 9:15 AM, we come together for an hour of Sunday School programs, in which we learn about God’s Word and its application to all areas of life. This Education hour has applicable teaching for every age group including adults.

We begin our Sunday morning service at 10:30 AM. As we greet each other, we sing songs to prepare our hearts for the service.

The music we sing at CBC seeks to be a blend of old and new. We love doctrinally-rich hymns and we also find blessings in the choruses of the twenty-first century.

Our service is led mainly by our pastor. During this time, we sing several songs, offer prayers of praise, petition and confession to God, hear Scripture read and a sermon preached and give our offerings and tithes.

Preaching at CBC seeks to be relevant to today's issues, but still remains fully expositional, meaning that it seeks to declare the point of a particular Biblical passage. Sermons are usually 30-40 minutes (although they have been known to go longer and once or twice shorter) and are packed with material for reflection. On a regular basis, our sermon series alternate between the Old and New Testaments. All preaching is gospel-driven. Listen to an archived sermon here!

No. We will not single you out by asking you to stand or raise your hand. All we ask of you is what we ask of everyone who worships with us – come and lift your heart to the God who welcomes all of us in Christ.

Simply put, you should wear what you’re comfortable in. You will probably see some in suits and some in jeans. Most wear what could be described as business casual.

And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.
1 John 4:21 (NIV)

CBC History

Our Beginnings

Carrville Baptist Church began with the vision of the East Tallassee Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Raymond Scroggins in 1954. The ground was broken on July 20, 1969 for the building of the 501 Sims Avenue Sanctuary.

The Legacy Continued

Through a "Commitment to Build" program led by Reverend Robbins Sims, a new education building was occupied and dedicated on December 7, 1986. The membership of the church increased from the 56 Charter Members in 1954 to 454.

New campus acquired

After a successful "Claiming the Promised Land" campaign, on Sunday, August 9, 2009 Carrville Baptist Church met for the last time at 501 Sims Avenue and walked to 2436 Notasulga Road and dedicated their new Church Building.
